Aberavon is the perfect destination for a relaxing walk (or cycle) along a 3 mile coastal stretch on the eastern edge of the golden, sandy Swansea Bay. Parking is a mix of free and pay and display.
Whether you fancy a morning stroll along the sea front, building sandcastles with the children, exploring the sand dunes or just relaxing with an ice cream, Aberavon has the perfect laid-back, welcoming atmosphere that helps you unwind.
The long promenade is just perfect for cycling, jogging and rollerblading with a backdrop of long sweeping coastal views across the Swansea Bay, magnificent, especially at sunset. If you're not feeling too energetic there are cafés and restaurants along the front where you can just sit outside, catch your breath and watch the sea rolling in.

Important!
- Seasonal lifeguards when the red and yellow flags are flying, mainly between May and September.
- Strong offshore currents, supervise children at all times. No inflatables.
- Disabled access to the beach is near the centre of the promenade, the whole beach front length is wheelchair and pushchair friendly (flat tarmac) and is a shared cycle path.
- Cafe, restaurants, toilets and baby changing at the centre and north end of the beach.
- Disabled parking at various points along Princess Margaret Way.
- The main beach is a no dogs area between May and September, follow the signs.
- Please keep your dog securely on a lead and clean up any poo!
