YOU ARE HERE: HOME PWLL NATURE RESERVE
A large nature reserve and diverse wildlife habitat halfway between Burry Port and Llanelli on the Millennium Coastal Park. Tranquil walks through woodland, around fishing lakes and along coastal paths. Parking is free at either end (see map).
National Cycle Network Route 4 and the Wales Coast Path both traverse this expanse of pondland and lagoon habitat, home to a rich variety of woodland and plantlife, you'll find rushes, marsh orchids, reeds and ferns amongst many other common marshland plant species. You'll also find a variety of water fowl such as swans, coots, moorhen, ducks, geese, grebes, some of which use the area for breeding.
Pwll has a small beach area (Tywyn Bach) just adjacent to the unmistakable, circular land sculpture feature (entitled 'Walking with the sea'). Sit atop the sculpture for panoramic views across Carmarthen Bay looking towards the Gower Peninsula, Burry Port and Llanelli coast.
A beautiful mix of woodland and coast.
