YOU ARE HERE: HOME RHOSSILI
Without doubt one of Wales' premier coastal locations. Miles of magnificent golden, sandy beach, long walks atop towering cliffs, panoramic sea views that never fail to amaze. This area of the Gower is managed by the National Trust and access to the whole area is free, but parking is pay and display (Motorbikes, Blue Badge holders and National Trust members can park for free).
Take a leisurely stroll eastwards from the car park heading along the top of the stunning coastal cliffs towards the 'Worms Head', the sweeping views across the vast expanse of beach below are quite breathtaking, or perhaps climb up to 'Trig Point' (see map) following the ridge path and enjoy spectacular, panoramic scenery along the whole of Rhossili Bay (a strenuous climb but well worth it).
This three mile long beach is one of the finest in Wales, if not the UK, but getting to it involves a steep climb down from the village (mostly steps), it can take a while to get back up!
The car park can get quite full during the summer season and you may have to wait a short while for a space although the National Trust often opens overspill fields to cater for this (cars, motorcycles, minibuses, motorhomes welcome). Facilities include shop, toilets (plus disabled toilets) and restaurants. If you want to follow designated walks ask for a map in the National Trust shop.
Simply stunning.
