YOU ARE HERE: HOME LLANELLI BEACH
Part of the Millennium Coastal Park, this beach sits at the entrance to the Loughor estuary on the western end of Carmarthen Bay with superb views across to the Gower Peninsula.
Pay and display parking.
Formerly a heavily industrialised area, the Llanelli coast has been transformed into a major hub for walking, cycling and sporting events. Kite and wind surfers often frequent the beach taking advantage of the strong off shore winds. Several marathons, such as the Llanelli Half Marathon, take place throughout the year.
Part of the all Wales Coast Path and on the National Cycle network Route 4 (with Route 47 a close by connection) this golden, sandy beach is perfect for a relaxing bucket and spade day out in the Summer months or just a bracing walk along the promenade at any time of year. If you're not feeling energetic, then why not take advantage of the cafe/restaurant near the car park to relax, have a coffee and enjoy the panoramic views across Carmarthen Bay!
At the north end of the promenade the railway land bridge takes you across to Sandy Water Park, the perfect wildlife stop, feed the ducks and swans. A haven for all manner of water fowl.
A day at the beach!
Bring your bicycle and use Llanelli as a starting point to explore eastwards towards Machynys, Loughor and Swansea or westwards towards Burry Port, Pembrey and Kidwelly along miles of mostly traffic free cycle paths, perfect for beginner cyclists.
