YOU ARE HERE: HOME PENDINE
Famous for its world land speed record attempts this amazingly flat, long sandy beach is the perfect place for a day of relaxation on the sea front or trying out the challenging hilltop walking or simply doing a spot of rockpooling at low tide. Parking is Pay and Display.
Make sure you visit the Museum of Land Speed, directly on the sea front, to find out more about the beach history through interactive displays and video. See the historic car "Babs" here that set the world land speed record in 1926 (on temporary display during the year, check with the museum).
Pendine is on the Wales Coast Path and if you follow the path from the beach westwards up the hillside towards Gilman Point (quite strenuous!), you'll come across a small bay (Morfa Bychan) which was actually used for D-Day landing practise during World War Two. The views from the hillside are quite breathtaking.
Fill your lungs with that fresh sea air!
